Waterfall Table

This one of a kind walnut slab table, with a terraced 'waterfall' top, was crafted in my new home studio. The piece features two hand cut, spalted hickory butterfly joints and a hand rubbed oil finish. The steel hairpin legs delicately hold the slab aloft without becoming a distraction from the tops intricate beauty. The walnut slab was locally and sustainably harvested in Chester County, Pa. Chainsaw cuts made during the milling of the tree, along with the rippling figured grain, influenced my 'waterfall' motif.

Boone's Island - Completed

Mail Box Change Banks

These change banks were created for The West Chester University Alumni Association at Brandywine Woodworks. We were commissioned by the university to build banks for the salvaged mailbox fronts form one of the dormitories scheduled for demolition. The boxes are crafted from cherry that was salvaged from the Brandywine Valley where West Chester University is located. Traditional box joints were hand cut giving the bank a strong vaulted appearance. I was able to remove the tumblers from the mailbox doors, giving each unit a simple one letter combination. A hand rubbed oil finish was applied to beautify and protect these truly unique pieces.

Rosewood Beer Growler Handle

A tasty end to a fun little project!  This was my first try at making a wooden growler handle and it has successfully survived two trips to Victory Brewing Co.  I have some modifications to make and several different designs to try.  Check back often for the newest creation.
